Reviews about Miller & Woodward

After visiting the "big name" local jewelry stores in Lexington in search of the perfect engagement ring, with mediocre results, my fiancé and I finally found Miller & Woodward. Not only were they extremely helpful and knowledgeable, but they also weren't pushy, and didn't try to tell me what I wanted in a ring. Even better, they carry Whitehouse Brothers' rings, and within 5 minutes of entering the store, we found "it" - a gorgeous estate-style platinum engraved engagement ring. I couldn't be more thrilled with my ring, and I'm even happier that we found such a professional, friendly local jeweler. We'll be repeat customers! :)

Ignorant and rude are synonyms for Miller and Woodward. Brought in a jewelry item for cleaning. Was attended to by an elderly gentleman. Not only did he not know the designer (who is well known in Europe and sells in the Northeast here in the US), but he looked at my item as if it was worthless, and questioned whether the mounted stone was real. When I asked whether the cleaning process would hurt the stone, he told me he'd have to cut a piece off of the stone to verify that it was indeed what I said it was. What a gemologist! Then he told me he could it clean it "sometime next week'. Do yourself a favor and have your jewelry serviced elsewhere, particularly if its a higher-end piece from the less commercial designers. These folks don't know truth from fiction.

I would not recommend this business to anyone. I went in to have two items appraised (one for later resale). When I told the girl this, she rolled her eyes and mumbled something as if this was the dumbest request she had ever heard. She went to get her boss, who also ended up exasperated after a brief conversation with me. They both had zero patience with me, acted as if I was stupid, and repeatedly corrected my ignorance regarding gemstones. The situation ended with the boss telling me I should take my business elsewhere because he didn't have the patience to understand why I came into his store.
